Karachi Water Tanker Accident Claims Young Student’s Life

A tragic Karachi water tanker accident claimed the life of a first-year college student in North Karachi. The incident happened near Four K Chowrangi, where a speeding water tanker hit a 21-year-old motorcyclist named Abid, ending his life on the spot. The case has once again raised concerns about road safety and the growing danger of heavy vehicles on Karachi’s roads.
According to witnesses, Abid was riding his motorcycle towards college when the water tanker struck him with force. The collision was so severe that the young student could not survive. He was a first-year student at Usman Public Higher Secondary School and had left home for his routine classes that morning.
Soon after the accident, the local residents became angry and set the water tanker on fire in protest. Fire brigade teams reached the area quickly and controlled the flames with the help of a fire tender. The situation remained tense for some time as people demanded action against reckless drivers.

Police officials said that the tanker driver escaped from the scene immediately after the crash. The authorities have started an investigation and are trying to track down the driver. They also stated that cases involving speeding heavy vehicles have become increasingly common in the area.
Rescue services reported that traffic accidents in Karachi have caused over 800 deaths so far this year, and the numbers continue to rise despite safety measures. They added that 244 deaths were caused by heavy traffic alone, showing how urgent the issue has become. This latest Karachi water tanker accident has once again highlighted the need for stricter control and better road management to protect citizens.
